Alene Kitzmiller, age 93 years, a resident of Rt. 1, Elkins, the Chenoweth Creek Community, passed away Tuesday morning, July 10, 2012 at Colonial Place where she had been a resident since Friday. She was born August 28, 1918 at Elkins, a daughter of the late William Glenn and Sarah Davy Whiteman. On October 11, 1937 at Tom’s Brook, VA, she was married to Jennings Harold Kitzmiller who preceded her in death March 5, 2002. She is survived by two sons, Jay Kitzmiller, of Paradise, CA and Robert Kitzmiller, of Buckhannon. Two daughters, Joyce Auman, of Smyrna, TN and Carolyn “Jeanie” Morrison, of Elkins. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, five nieces and four nephews. Also preceding her in death were five brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Kitzmiller was a 1936 graduate of Elkins High School and was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of Christ in Elkins.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Maplewood Cemetery. Dr. Phillip Richards will officiate and interment will follow. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Alene Whiteman Kitzmiller.
