Ruby Jane Watson George, age 86 years, a resident of Mabie, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, November 23, 2012 in Elkins. She was born August 7, 1926 at Mabie, a daughter of the late Rufus and Rebecca Shreve Watson. On July 15, 1946, at Harding, she was married by the late Rev. F.A. Sampson to Rev. Ronald R. George, Sr. who preceded her in death on March 29, 2010. Surviving are two daughters, Linda D. Ryan of Mabie, Carla J. Combs and husband Scott of Brandywine, WV, two sons, Ronald R. George, Jr. and wife Trish, Mabie, James E. George and wife Ruby of Mill Creek and a special son-in-law, Jerry A. Helmick of Mabie. Two sisters, Edna Shockey and husband Neal, Mabie, Ruth Moore and husband Roy, Mabie, a brother, Tom Watson and wife Wanda of Southington, Ohio, seventeen grandchildren, forty five great grandchildren, twenty five great-great grandchildren and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved also survive. Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Sandra J. Helmick, a son, Victor D. George, brothers, Willard, Clifford, Howard and John Watson, sisters, Edith Ratcliff, Thelma Rowan, Anna Currence, an infant sister, Rebecca Watson, one grandchild, four great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a son-in-law, Jerry Ryan. Mrs. George was a graduate of Coalton High School in 1945 and was a Homemaker. She was a member of the Harrison Community Church at Mabie and a member of “Wings” the Women’s Group of the Church. Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. On Tuesday, November 27th she will be moved to the Harrison Community Church where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm. Rev. Sean Barnett will officiate and interment will follow in the Fincham Chapel Cemetery near Mill Creek. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Ruby Jane Watson George.
