Elizabeth Allen “Bette” Gatrell Wolfskill, age 89 years, a former resident of Parsons and Elkins and a resident of Piketon, Ohio, was carried home by God’s beautiful angels on Thursday, October 18, 2012 to dwell in the house of the Lord. She was born October 8, 1923 in Parsons, WV and was predeceased by her parents, Clarence J. Allen and the late Ina Teter Allen. Also preceding her in death were brothers Louis and Viloris Allen of Scott Depot, WV, brother Billy Jo Allen and wife Delpha of Cross Lanes, WV, her husbands Bill Gatrell of Piketon, Ohio and Joe Wolfskill of El Monte, CA. Bette is survived by her daughter, Sandra Jo Higgonbotham of Iron Station, NC, sons, William A. Gatrell and wife Violet, Angleton, TX and Robert Gatrell and wife Sharon of Piketon, Ohio, a sister, Phyllis Surface, Walton, WV and grandchildren, Dwayne Gatrell, Angleton, TX, Billie Joe Gray, Angleton, TX, Rob Gatrell, Huber Heights, OH, Jennifer Hopkins, Piketon, OH. Eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive. Bette was a retired chemist for the Epoxylite Corporation of El Monte, CA. and attended the Piketon United Methodist Church in Ohio. Friends may call from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jonas Johnson, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Elkins Memorial Gardens.
