Anita Yvonne SISSY Simmons Bozic 1940-2012 Obituary
Anita Yvonne “SISSY” Simmons Bozic, 71, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Saturday morning, January 7, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center at Elkins, WV.
She was born May 2, 1940 at Parsons, a daughter of the late Dearl “Peabody” and Nellie Mae Deets Simmons. On November 22, 1962 at Parson, First Baptist Church she was married to Robert “Bob” Bozic who survives.
Also surviving is one brother, Kenneth Charles Simmons, FL, four children, Robert Mark Bozic and wife Renee, Tallmansville, WV, Robin Lynn James and husband Russ, Wellsburg, WV, Karen Sue Reed and husband Kevin, Moorefield, WV and Kenton Dale Bozic and wife Kimberly, Weston, WV, eight grandchildren, Russell, Katelyn, Kelsi and Kendra James, Korey and Karson Reed, Braley and Kole Bozic. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Harold, Paul “Buddy”, Blair, Dale, Dearl “Junior” and Maurice “Bubby” Simmons.
Anita is known as “Sissy” by family and friends. “Sissy” was a graduate of Parsons High School, class of 1958 and was a member of the Parsons High Marching Band. She worked at the Woolen Mill where she met Robert “with sharp shoes and creases in his pants”. She was secretary at the North Central Community Action Association and worked other jobs in Parson. “Sissy” was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Parsons and the Parsons Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was very active in her children’s lives and very proud of her grandchildren. “Sissy” was steadfast in her beliefs and had a zest for life. With a huge heart she spread love and joy to all those around her.
Visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home on Saturday, January, 14 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January, 14 2012 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Neil Parson and the Reverend Robert Leard officiating. Interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery.
