Verna Mae Stemple Verna Mae Rogers Stemple, 78, widow of Charles Alden Stemple, of Wood Street, died June 24, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was a member of the Wilmore United Methodist Church and was a former treasurer for the Wilmore United Methodist Women. Mrs. Stemple formerly served as a secretary at Asbury Theological Seminary. She was the daughter of the late Vern E. and Lila Alberta Ross Rogers. Survivors include her children, Michael Alan (Sheri) Stemple, Rita Jo Stemple Vandergriff and Steven Dale (Sharlene) Stemple; grandchildren, Joshua, Jasmine, Elizabeth, Aaron, Jonathan, Rachel and Seth, great grandchildren, Anthony, Victoria, Jesse, Zane S., Maryam, Sara, Zane K., Sagan, Addison and Izabella; a brother, Earl (Betty) Rogers and In-laws, Edwin Murl and Ada Nestor. She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Rogers. Services will be 2:00pm Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Michael C. Voigts officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time Thursday. Graveside rites will take place at the Cross Roads Cemetery at Tacy at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 with the Rev. Steven Dale Stemple officiating.
