Louise Bell Reed 1941-2012 Obituary
Louise Bell Reed, 70, of Hinton, Va., died Friday afternoon, August 24, at NellaÂ’s Nursing Home, Elkins, following an extended illness. She was born November 4, 1941, at Philippi, a daughter of the late Flay and Nola Olive (Poling) Boyles.
On September 17, 1963, she was married to Homer Kenneth Reed, who preceded her in death on August 16, 1971.
Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Louise Dunn and husband, Tom, Penny Gene Bennett and husband, Roger, all of Philippi, Nancy Lynn Rhodes and husband, David, Hinton, Va.; two sons, Thomas Lee Reed and wife Elizabeth, Clifford Homer Reed and wife, Barbara, all of Staunton, Va., one brother, Richard Lee Boyles, Hartley, Del.; seven grandchildren, Matthew Thomas Reed, Jason Cole Dunn, Heather Nicole Zirkle, Brandy Lee Owens, Robert Lee Bennett, Dorsey Lynn Bennett and Cheyanne Lynn Rhodes; and ten great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a two sisters, Margaret Belle Monte and Edis Ann Upton and by one brother, Buey Dale Boyles.
Mrs. Reed had cooked in several area restaurants and retired, in 2007, from the dietary department of Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, Va.
She attended the Valley Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi.
Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Tuesday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
