Charles David “Charlie” Currence, 47, a native of Randolph County, and a resident of Martinsburg, passed from this life Monday evening, February 13, 2012, at the City Hospital at Martinsburg. Charlie was born on Thursday, January 14, 1965 at Elkins, a son of the late Marlie Marvin Currence and Goldie Belle Rexrode Currence. Charlie was never married. Left to cherish Charlie’s memory are his brothers and sisters, Julian Currence of High Point, NC, Phillis Friel of Elkins, Mary Currence of Mill Creek, Marlie Currence of Elkins, Mason Scott of Valley Bend, Deena Bender of Buckhannon, Danny Scott of Valley Bend, Judy Himes of Elkins, Curtis Scott of Norton, Lesa Scott of Buckhannon, and Dana Scott of Elkins, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marlene Currence Lloyd. Charlie was a graduate of Elkins High School, and although he was disabled, he had begun working at Goodwill Industries in Martinsburg. Charlie enjoyed collecting and assembling model cars, and he loved Pepsi. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Thursday, February 16, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, after which wishes for Charlie’s cremation will be honored.
