Shirley Ann Barton Judy, 79, a resident of Parsons, went to be with the Lord on Saturday February 11, 2012. She was born Thursday, December 1, 1932 at Parsons, a daughter of the late Robert Barton and Opal Mae Johnson Barton of Parsons, and the loving wife of John William Judy for 62 years. She is the mother of Dale Judy (Sharon), Cathy Hinkle (Charles), Randy Judy (Kathy) and Rusty Judy. She is a Grandmother of six, and Great Grandmother of three, and a friend to all. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by her brother, Robert Barton and her sister, Mary Beryl, and a son, James Robert Judy. She was a graduate of Parsons High School, had worked at Alexandria Hospital as a secretary in the lab, had worked as a waitress, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping with church events. She will be greatly missed, but lovingly remembered. Visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 11AM until 1PM, the funeral hour. The Reverend Philip Dent will officiate and interment will follow at Parsons City Cemetery.
