Doris Jean Plum Shelton, 74, a resident of Elkins passed from this life Friday morning, March 23, 2012 at the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. She had been in declining health, however death was sudden and unexpected. She was born Monday, November 29, 1937 at Philippi, a daughter of the late Ralph Plum and Vonda Hathaway Plum. On December 24, 1960, Doris was married to Joseph Robert Shelton, Sr. who preceded her in death. Surviving are two children, Kimberly Scott and husband, Greg and Joseph Shelton, Jr. and wife, Andrea, all of Elkins, one grandson, Ethan Shelton of Elkins, one brother, Dwayne Plum of Arden, five sisters, Pat Fitzwater of Grafton, Sue Hardin, Penny Hall, Monna Plum all of Arden, and Debbie Williams of Philippi, and several nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Tex Plum and her sister, Norma Bolyard. She was a graduate of Philip-barbour High School, was a homemaker, and an assistant manager at Mountaineer Mart. She was a member of the Cathedral of Deliverance in South Elkins and was Pentecostal by faith. At Doris’ request, her body was cremated. The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Doris Jean Plum Shelton.
