Eloise Jane Dycus, age 71, who had lived in the Gilman area for the past 21 years, passed from this life Sunday, July 1, 2012, at her home. She was in usual health and death was unexpected. Her Cocker Spaniel Sable also left with her. Eloise was born February 21, 1941, in Lafayette, IN, the daughter of Lawrence Howard Finney and Josephine Evelyn Dangler Finney. Eloise attended the schools of Ocala, FL, and moved to Virginia Beach, VA, where she was a member of the Haygood United Methodist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and member of the Haygood United Methodist Women’s Auxilary. She lovingly served as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts of America. Among Eloise’s favorite hobbies were baking, sewing and crocheting. She continually helped others through her volunteer service. Eloise is survived by three sons: Eldon Dean Dycus, FL; Timothy Scott Dycus and Richard Allen Dycus, VA; three daughters: Brenda Marie Morril, VA; Danielle Lynn Riggins, VT; and Tiffany Michelle Michal, IN; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Harriet Sue Snyder, MT, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Eloise was preceded in death by her daughter, Nannette Sue Dycus, and three sisters and two brothers. Visitation for Eloise will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home, 100 Meadow Lane, Valley Bend, WV, Monday, July 9, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., the funeral hour. Pastor Barry Moll, minister of the First United Methodist Church, Elkins, will officiate. Eloise will then be moved to Norfolk, VA, for graveside services to be held Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Norfolk, VA.
