Fred Leroy Loughry, 65, passed from this life, Friday, October 12, 2012 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He had been in his usual health and death was due to an unexpected illness. Fred was born on Thursday, January 16, 1947 in Tucker County, WV, a son of the late Elmer and Nellie Wiles Loughry of Licking Creek. On August 16, 1972, in Oakland, MD, he married the former Iris Jean Simmons who survives. They enjoyed 40 years of marriage. Fred is survived by his two daughters, Brenda J. Arnold and husband Leonard, Sharon K. Moats and husband William, two sons, Randy A. Carr and wife Tammy, and Stephen D. Carr and wife Trina, all of Parsons, five grandchildren, Todd Arnold and wife Tara, Julie Lewis and husband Chris, Travis and Scott Moats and Melissa Carr, One brother, Claude Loughry and wife Catherine of Baltimore, MD, one sister, Ruth Weaver and husband Jerry of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Aaron David and Raymond Loughry. Fred graduated Parsons High School in 1964. He was an Army veteran with Korean Conflict. Fred was a Methodist by faith and attended the Macedonia United Methodist Church. He worked for Alpha Cement, Hinchcliff Lumber for twenty-three and a half years and Department of Highways for twenty years He is a member of the Pythagoras Masonic Lodge #128 A.F. & A.M. of Parsons. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was an auctioneer and collected antiques, especially clocks and model trains. Visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home at 225 Walnut Street, Parsons, WV 26287 on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 5:00p-9:00p. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 1:00pm. The Reverend Robert Leard will officiate. Interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery where HW Daniels Post #29, American Legion, the Tygart Valley Post #3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the WV Honor Guard will conduct full military honors and Pythagoras Lodge #128 A.F.&A.M will conduct Masonic rites.
