Rose M. Helmick Hogue, 93, a resident of Beverly, passed from this life early Monday morning, October 15, 2012 at the Davis Memorial Hospital. Rose was born Saturday, May 10, 1919 at Pickens, a daughter of the late Alvin Grant “Alley” Helmick and Dolly Mae Davidson Helmick. She was married to William J. Hogue, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 16, 2012. Rose attended the schools of Randolph County, was a restaurant owner, and had lived in New Orleans for 20 years before returning to West Virginia. She enjoyed crocheting, housekeeping, and loved cooking. She had attended the Gospel Light Tabernacle in Elkins. Rose is survived by a sister, Blanche McCartney and husband, Glen, of Buckhannon, several friends including special friends, Linda Workman of Elkins and Bobbie Smith of Beverly, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were three siblings, Russell Helmick, Delsie Brady, and Cora Holcomb. Rose’s request for cremation was honored. The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Rose M. Helmick Hogue.
