John William Judy, 82, a resident of Parsons, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 27, 2012. He was born Thursday, June 4, 1930 at Dry Fork, a son of the late Isom and Gertrude Judy of Parsons, and the loving husband of the late Shirley Ann Judy for 62 years. Surviving are four children, Dale Judy and wife Sharon of Haymarket, VA, Cathy Hinkle and husband Charles of Alexandria, VA, Randy Judy and wife Kathy of Charlestown, WV, and Rusty Judy of Parsons. He is a Grandfather of six, and Great Grandfather of three, and a friend to all. He has a sister Josephine Lambert and he was preceded in death by a son, James Robert Judy, and a sister Dess Kidwell, and 6 brothers, Dick, Jack, Denver, Denzil Lee, Howard, and Willie Judy. He worked at Alexandria Dairy, Penn Daw Co-op, and sold Electrolux vacuum cleaners. He owned his own companies, Springfield Floors, and Springfield Tree Service in the Northern Virginia area. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, hunting, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping with church events. He was also a member of Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge #219, Mount Vernon Va. He will be greatly missed, but lovingly remembered. Visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 11AM until 1PM, the funeral hour. The Reverend Philip Dent will officiate and interment will follow at Parsons City Cemetery.
