Hazel Fern Jordan Mick, 93, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. She was born Saturday, March 29, 1919 in Crellin, MD, a daughter of the late Martin Luther Jordan and Mattie Belle Kelly Jordan. During October of 1950 in Richwood, she was married to Charles Gabriel Mick, who preceded her in death in 1994. Hazel is survived by five children, Janet L. Everly and husband, Thomas of Morgantown, Rita Jones and husband, Bill, of Parsons, Charles Thomas Mick and wife, Renee, of Hambleton, Larry Neil Mick and wife, Marsha, of Elkins, and Donald Eugene Mick of Hambleton, sixteen grandchildren, Thomas Everly and wife, Cindy, Cynthia Fern Everly, Billy Jones and wife, Melissa, Lisa Jones and companion, Hap Mullennex, Kevin Jones and wife, Francheska, Brandi Mick, Kristin Mick and companion, Scott Arnett, Shanna Parsons, Mary Alice “Button” Plumley, Virginia Sharp, Kelly Proctor and husband, Eugene, Eddie Sharp and wife, Debbie, Mindy Kirk and husband, Joseph, Amy Howell and husband, Kenny, and Brooks Ketterman, Joey Michael Mick, twenty-seven great grandchildren, Ashlea Summers, Rachel Everly, Michael Jones, Evin Jones, Aasta Jones, Makenzie Jones, Austin Clark, Andy Cale, Bryson Harper, Ashton Arnett, Jason Plumley, Josh Plumley, Chasity Sharp, Melonie Evans, Billy Evans, Eddie Sharp III, Ryan Proctor, Shawna Proctor, Katlyn Ferrell, Ethan Kirk, Tristan Kirk, Logan Howell, Karah Howell, Tamden Howell, Trinity Beaver, Augustus Mullennex and Brooklyn Ketterman, a special former daughter-in-law, Dawn Schadewald, and several nieces and nephews. Hazel was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by one son, Joseph Martin Mick, three brothers, Darrell Kenneth Jordan, Roy Plyford Jordan, and Otis “Ode” Burl Jordan, and three sisters, Erma Evelyn Savage, Wilda Margaret Suehowice, and Virginia Mattie Lewis, and a great granddaughter, Michelle Sharp. Hazel attended the school in Crellin, MD, and was a homemaker. She had lived in the Parsons area since 1959. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, gardening, and was a great cook. She was a member of the Parsons Church of God. Visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home of Parsons on Saturday from 5 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 2PM. The Reverend Eli Hostetler and Reverend David Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the Mick Addition of the Collett Cemetery at Hambleton. Memorial contributions may be made in Hazel’s honor to the Parsons Church of God, 509 Central Avenue, Parsons, WV 26287.
