Harry ‘Sut’ Pennington, Jr., 73, a resident of Hambleton, passed from this life Friday evening, December 7, 2012 at home. He was born Friday, November 3, 1939 at Blackman Flats, a son of the late Harry B. Pennington, Sr. and Alma Kelly Pennington. On October 19, 1963 at the Mt. Zion Church, he was married to the former Loretta W. Falls who survives. Others left to cherish Sut’s memory are his children, Cindy Sigley and husband Arlie of Belington , the late Harry “Bo” Pennington and wife Carole of Hambleton and Sammy Regester at home, five sisters, Bobbie McWilliams of Texas, Sharon Lambert, Teresa Pennington, Dian Shifflet all of Hambleton, Patricia McClure of Ohio, eight grandchildren, Justin Vance of Fairmont, LeeAnn Brown of Richwood, Kristen Nine of Hambleton,and Kerri Vance of Belington. Rachelle, Harry IV, and Saria Pennington all of Hambleton, and Alisha Crossland of Davis, eleven great grandchildren. Preceding him in death besides his parents are one son, Harry ‘Bo’ Burdette Pennington, three brothers, Doug, Larry and Delbert Pennington, and one infant sister, Emma. Sut attended the schools of Tucker County, had worked as a foreman in coal industry construction and retired in 1982. He loved to attend auction sales and collect antiques. He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family, talking with people with a smile on his face and he never met a stranger. Visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday, December 10, 2012 from 4 until 8PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 11:00AM. The Reverend Eli Hostetler and the Reverend James Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the Pennington Family Cemetery at Hambleton.
