Brittany Grace McCray, age 20, of Buckhannon, WV, went to meet our heavenly father on Friday, April 6, 2012 after a courageous 3 years of battling brain cancer. She was born January 20, 1992 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of Danny Wayne and Darletta Louise Bender McCray, Jr. of Buckhannon. In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Darous W. McCray of Buckhannon; maternal grandparents, Leon and Darlene Bender of Buckhannon; paternal grandparents, Danny and Mary McCray, Sr. of Canton, OH; maternal great grandmother, Nancy Hinchman of French Creek, WV; paternal great grandmother, Glenna Tenney of Buckhannon; three aunts, Carisa Confere, Andrea Lantz and husband Cyrus and Nikki Hayes and husband Pete all of Buckhannon; one uncle, Michael McCray of Canton and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal great grandfather, Rev. Luther Tenney; paternal great grandparents, Eldon and Mary Jane Bissett; maternal great grandfather, Charles Hinchman; maternal great grandfather, Darous Bender and maternal great grandmother, Effie Bender Lewis. She was a member of the Way of Holiness Church in Buckhannon. Brittany has been an inspiration and has touched the lives of all who knew her through her faith in Christ. Brittany never gave up hope. She will be sadly missed by family, friends and loved ones. Friends will be received at the Way Of Holiness Church Monday, April 9, 2012 from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
