Samuel E. Van Horn, age 78, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born August 30, 1934 in Meyersdale, PA, a son of the late Carl Late and June Evangeline Miller Van Horn. On January 6, 1956 he married Ruth Jean Jenkins who preceded him in death on April 13, 1997. He is survived by a companion, Amelia McCoy of Buckhannon; two sons, Steven Daniel Van Horn and wife Barbara of Keller, TX and Samuel Hugh Van Horn and wife Denise of Annapolis, MD; one daughter, Julie Ruth Van Horn of Atlanta, GA; mother in law, Ethel Frances Jenkins of Buckhannon; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Mary June Kokos of Elyria, OH. Mr. Van Horn was a Mechanical Engineer. He was a member of the BPOE Buckhannon Lodge # 1736 and he served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 10 AM until 12 Noon at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2 PM on Tuesday at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fairmont, WV with the Rev. Ronald McCauley officiating. Poling-st.
