OBITUARY: HARRY SMITH WHITESELL (SR.) Harry Smith Whitesell (Sr.), 86, of Rt. #2, Belington, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 6, at his home.. He was born May 1, 1926, at Penns Grove, N.J., a son of the late Benjamin and Elsie (Shimp) Whitesell. On November 30, 1946, he married the former Eleanor Mae Wiley, who survives at Belington. Also surviving are two sons, Harry Smith Whitesell Jr. and wife, Shirley J., Belington, William David Whitesell and wife, Nancy, Bear, Del.; one brother, Joseph “Jim” Whitesell, Pennsville, N.J.; three grandsons, Harry Whitesell III, PhD and wife, Liyan Miao, Sunnyvale, Calif., Michael Todd Whitesell JD,LLM, and wife, Krystal Thomas DPT, Morgantown, Donald Whitesell and wife Stephanie, Mullica Hill, N.J.; three great grandchildren, Nathan Whitesell, Morgantown, Luke Whitesell, Sunnnyvale and Addison Ruth W hitesell, Mullica Hill. Mr. Whitesell retired from Dupont Chemical Corp., where he was a chemical operator. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Field Artillery and he was a member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 10, from the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Avenue, Belington. The Rev. Tim Bleigh will officiate and interment will follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Friday and from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday. The Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
