OBITUARY: WILLARD RAY POLING Willard Ray Poling, 78, of Philippi, died Monday morning, August 12, 2013, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
He was born December 2, 1934, at Philippi, a son of the late Willard Murl and Lena Ruth (Mouser) Poling.
On December 10, 1953, he married the former Mildred Josephine “Tillie” Dadisman, who preceded him in death on January 31, 2002.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda M. Haller and husband, David, Karen Sue Delauder and husband, Donald, all of Philippi, Loretta Skidmore, Elkins; one son, Mark Ray Poling, Belington; one brother, Robert Poling, Belington; four sisters, Minnie Marie Knight, Wanda Jack and husband, Edward, all of Philippi, Janet Wilson and husband, Gale, Gormania, MD, Naomi Zirkle, Elkins; six grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Clay, Ashley Skidmore, Macy Skidmore, Travis Delauder and Nick Poling; three great grandchildren, Wesley Clay, Jaiden Wagner and Travon Delauder.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Pauline McQueeney. Mr. Poling was a retired equipment operator in surface mining. He had worked with McCoy Brothers, Barbour Coal Co. and retired from LaRosa Fuel Co. He attended the Silent Grove Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 15, 2013, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi. Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday and from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M., the funeral hour, on Thursday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
