OBITUARY: Wilda Leah Finley Wilda Leah Finley, 96, of Chapel St., Weston, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, in the Crestview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Jane Lew, following an extended illness. She was born August 12, 1917, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Jesse Hamilton Canfield and Jessie (Powers) Canfield. On September 18, 1937, she was united in marriage to Gerald Franklin Finley, who preceded her in death on November 10, 1985. Surviving is one daughter, Jessie Marcho, Philippi; two sons, Gary Lee Finley and Gerald Franklin Finley, Jr., both of Green River, Wyoming; daughter-in-law, Karen Finley, Weston; thirteen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, David Finley; four sisters, Ruby Gillis, Audra Moyers, Flossie Blankenship, and Leota Herbert; and by three brothers, Fred Canfield, Williard, Canfield, and Alvah Canfield. Mrs. Finley was a homemaker. She volunteered at the Barbour County Senior Center. She had attended the Philippi Baptist Church and Elk City United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 21, from the Stemple and Forman Funeral home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Rick Price will officiate and interment will follow in the Belington Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home from 3:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Monday. The Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
