CAROLYN JOYCE WISE WILES, age 74 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life early Monday morning, October 21, 2013 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center at Elkins, WV with her family by her side.
She was born Friday, May 19, 1939 at Kempton, MD, a daughter of the late Boyd Lee and Audry Pricilla Sowers Wise. On October 13, 1957 at Red House, MD, she was married to Gene Calvin Wiles, who preceded her in death May 29, 1985.
Surviving are two daughters, Lesa Ann Tenney and husband Thomas of Kerens, WV, Lois Ann Lipscomb and husband Charles of Parsons, WV; two brothers, Richard Wise of TX, Jeffery “Butch” Wise and wife Theresa of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren, Amanda Plum Garrett, Wesley Herron, Charles Lipscomb, Reva Bohon, Jon Herron, Tiffany Lipscomb and Noah Lipscomb and nine great grandchildren, Regan, Harley, Madalyn, Paul Allen, George, Timothy, Randy, Joseph and Kragen.
Preceding her in death are two sons, Randall Troy Wiles and John Calvin Bohon.
She attended the schools of Thomas, WV. She was an employee of the former Parsons Shoe Plant, the Bausch and Lomb Company and retired in 2006 from the Parsons Shop N Save. She enjoyed sewing and crochet.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 2PM. Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows.
