Betty Lee Parrack Brady 1923-2013 Obituary
Betty Lee Parrack Brady, age 90 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Saturday afternoon, November 2, 2013 at Colonial Place in Elkins, WV.
She was born Wednesday, April 25, 1923 in Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Richard B. and Ruth Mick Parrack. On April 29, 1946 at Oakland, MD she was married to Ralph L. Brady, who preceded her in death August 16, 1999. They had celebrated fifty-three years of marriage. Surviving are one daughter, Judith Brady Moore and husband John, Cumberland, MD; two grandchildren, Krista Leigh Youngblood and husband Thomas; and Jonathan Ryan Moore and one great grandson, Kyle Andrew Youngblood.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death are two sisters, Joline Donna Skinner and Mildred Parrack.
Betty attended the schools of Mill Creek and was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the Class of 1939. She attended Davis & Elkins College and worked as the Assistant Trust Officer at the Citizens National Bank, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Elkins Lodge # 1135, B.P.O.E., the Davis Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking and loved her grandchildren dearly.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM. On Tuesday, at 1:30 a funeral service will be conducted with the Reverend Doctor Marvin L. Parli officiating. Entombment will follow at the Maplewood Memorial Mausoleum at Elkins, WV.
