Harry Lee Lambert, Sr., age 72 years, a resident of Mabie, WV went to be with the Lord, Sunday afternoon December 15, 2013 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV surrounded by his family. He had been in declining health for the past thirteen years and death was attributed to a massive stroke.
He was born Monday, April 28, 1941 at Jones Run, Randolph County, WV a son of the late Opal Melba Lambert Collins and Paul Summerfield. He was twice married. First, to Lola Mae Smith Bell, who survives. Second, on December 17, 1977 at Elkins, WV he was married to the former Naomi Ruth Sponaugle, who survives at Mabie. Also surviving are three sons, Harry Lee Lambert, Jr. and wife Shelly; and James Eugene Lambert, all of Elkins; Jonathan Wesley Lambert and wife Amy, of Mabie; two daughters, Barbara Ann McSpadden and husband Paul, of Junior; Pamela Jean Currence and husband Mike, of Elkins; nine grandchildren, Lee; Chris; Thomas; Billy; Charmane; Cody; Nicole; Aiden; and Cameron; and eight great grandchildren, Brooke; Rylan; Aleena; Hayden; Leland; Jaylen; Carlos; and Damien who were all his pride and joy, four brothers, Danny; Delmas; and Robert Summerfield; and Roger Collins; and three sisters, Esther Shannon; Eula Smith; and Loretta Summerfield.
Preceding him in death are his step father, Arch Collins; two brothers, Paul Summerfield, Jr.; and Riley Lee Summerfield; four sisters, Donna; Leva; and Leta Mae Summerfield; and Eloise Collins Miller and one grandson, Christopher Paul McSpadden.
He attended the schools of Randolph County, had worked for Ricottilli Fencing for seventeen years and the W. V. Department of Highways for twenty-three years as a grader operator. He was an avid car and truck enthusiast, and enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and camping. He attended the Elkins First Church of the Nazarene for over twenty years.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Wednesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 1 PM. The Rev. Terry A. Burgess will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
