EDSEL GLENN RIGGLEMAN, age 66 years, a resident of Valley Head, WV departed this life Thursday afternoon, March 21, 2013 at his home, with his family at his side. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to cancer.
He was born Saturday, May 25, 1946 at Marlinton, WV a son of the late Edgar Glenn and Dorothy Mae Rose Riggleman. He was twice married. First, to the former Nancy Lynn Wood, who preceded him in death. Second, on November 27, 1998 at Louisville, KY; he was married to the former Sandra “Susie” Ramsey, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Bradley Scott Riggleman and wife Sandi of Bridgewater, VA; one daughter, Dana Lynn Paternoster and husband Brian of Hebron, MD; one step daughter, Kimberly Horn and husband Scott of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Shelby Reese Riggleman of Bridgewater, VA; Apollo and Isis Paternoster, both of Hebron, MD; and two step grandsons, Connor and Cagney Horn, both of Louisville, KY.
He attended Tygart Valley High School, was a heavy equipment operator for various strip coal mines of the area. He was a self-employed excavator and owner and operator of Riggleman Excavating Incorporated. He attended The Mace United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 to 8 PM, Sunday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Monday, March 25, 2013 at 11 AM. Pastor Ann Fretwell will officiate and interment will follow at the Mingo Cemetery at Mingo, WV.
