David Allen White, age 60 years, a former resident of Parsons and Elkins WV, and more recently a resident of Philippi, WV departed this life Tuesday evening May 14, 2013 at his home in Philippi with his wife by his side. He had been in declining health since February.
He was born Monday, December 1, 1952 at Elkins, WV a son of the late Charlie and Genevieve Marcilla White. On January 19, 1997 at Oakland, MD he was married to the former Tempia Ann Paugh who survives at Philippi. They renewed their vows during 2012 at the Refuge Church with Pastor Kevin Gainer officiating. Also surviving are one step daughter, Tempia Marie Ravis, of Fayetteville, NC; one sister, Carolyn M. Plum and husband Jack, of Hambleton; one step granddaughter, Chloe Marie McVicker, of Philippi; three nieces, Lynn White Vandevender; Bobbie Plum Naylor; Sherry White; four nephews, Kevin White; Jack Plum; Michael Paul White; and Travis White and several great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are three brothers, Michael “Hair Bear”; Mitchell; and Charles Glenn “Spider” White.
He attended the schools of Randolph County, and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local # 175, having worked as a truck driver in heavy construction. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was an outstanding family member of The Refuge Church at Gilman.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 7 PM, Saturday. On Sunday morning, May 19, 2013, Mr. White will be moved to the Refuge Church at Gilman where friends may call from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Sunday, with Pastor Kevin Gainer officiating. Cremation will follow.
