MARSHA JEAN PHILLIPS BISHOFF, age 59 years, a resident of the Horseshoe Run Community, Parsons, WV departed this life early Monday morning, July 22, 2013 at her home. Death was unexpected and attributed to cardiac arrest.
She was born Tuesday, September 22, 1953 at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Marvin Kenneth and Minnie Marie Hile Phillips. On May 29, 1981 at Parsons, WV, she was married to Roger Lee Bishoff, who survives. They had celebrated thirty two years of marriage.
Also surviving are one daughter, Alicia Dawn Bishoff of Horseshoe Run Rd, St. George; one brother, Terry Lynn Hile and wife Judy of Horseshoe Run Rd, St. George; two sisters, Rhonda Lou Sherman of Ravenna, OH and Dawnelle Phillips Shehan and husband Thomas of Flagstaff, AZ; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death is one infant son, Justin Allen Bishoff.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1971, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Impact Team. She attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University at Mt. Vernon, OH. She was a former employee of St. George Clinic and Cortland Acres for many years. She was a receptionist and worked in medical records at the Appalachian Community Health Center for the past ten years. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Choir. She served in the Ministry, and at the time of her death, was serving the following Church’s, The Etam United Methodist Church, the Flag United Methodist Church, the Mt. Sarah United Methodist Church and the Green Valley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, was an avid reader, loved spending time with her family and enjoyed her animals, especially cats.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 11:30 AM. The Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate and interment will follow at the Bonnifield Cemetery at Horseshoe Run Road, St. George, WV.
