Ida Mae Shifflett Wiseman, age 64 years, a resident of the Dodson Run Community, Beverly, WV went to be with the Lord, Sunday afternoon August 11, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Saturday, February 19, 1949 at Beverly, WV a daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Grace Olive Watson Shifflett. She was twice married. First, on June 23, 1962 at Monterey, VA she was married to the Rev. John Clarence Wiseman, who preceded her in death, July 4, 1995. Second, she was formerly married to Billie Monroe Currence, who survives at Mill Creek. Also surviving are three sons, Johnie Junior Wiseman and wife Angela; and Michael Lee Wiseman and fiancé Dena Meadows, all of Beverly; Danny Ray Wiseman and wife Brenda, of Elkins; two brothers, Jessie Shifflett and wife Janet; and Wesley Shifflett and wife Sue, all of Junior; eight grandchildren, Frankie; Bobbie; Valerie: Johnie II (JJ); Cameron; Erica; Denny; and Serena and seventeen great grandchildren.
Ida attended the schools of Randolph County and enjoyed taking care of the residents, while working at Nella’s Nursing Home on Central Street as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years before staying at home to take care of her mother. She loved going to church at various churches every chance she had, and spending as much time as possible with her family. She was a minister and performed many marriage ceremonies over the years. She also enjoyed gardening, her dogs and cats and working her “farm” on Farmville.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Wednesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Pastor Troy McCartney and Pastor A. H. Belt will officiate and interment will follow at the Trinity Cemetery near Beverly, WV.
