Wilbur Elwood Bill Armentrout 1947-2013 Obituary
Wilbur Elwood “Bill” Armentrout, age 66 years, a resident of Whitmer, WV departed this life early Friday morning, October 11, 2013 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV surrounded by his family. Death was attributed to a massive heart attack.
He was born Sunday, January 12, 1947 at Hancock, MD a son of the late Baxter Elwood Armentrout and Dorothea Spriggs Armentrout, who survives at Job, WV. Also surviving are two sons, Rick Elwood Armentrout and wife Ruthann, of Buckhannon; John Boyd Worth Armentrout and wife Jill, of Clear Spring, MD; one daughter, Janet Jacqueline Thompson and husband Douglas, of Circleville; three grandchildren, Christopher; Katie; and Madison; one brother in law, Dave White; one nephew, Randy White; and one niece, Tammy Berry, all of Baltimore, MD.
Preceding him in death are one sister, Gertrude White; and one grandson, Corey Armentrout.
He was a graduate of Harman High School with the Class of 1966, was a devoted farmer and was a school bus driver for the Randolph County Board of Education for over thirty years. He was an active member of the Farm Bureau, the West Virginia Sheep Breeders Association, and was a member of the Endowment Foundation for the NRA of which he was a life member.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Tuesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 11:30 AM. The Rev. Earl Bible will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
