William Leon Bill Taylor 1935-2015 Obituary
William Leon “Bill” Taylor, 79, a resident of Huttonsville, passed from this life Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Hospice Care Inpatient Center in Elkins.
Bill was born Thursday, August 1, 1935 in Mill Creek, a son of the late Ernest Taylor and Arthelia Arbogast Taylor.
On November 14, 1964 in Mill Creek, he was married to the former Elizabeth Doris Tootill who survives.
Bill is survived by two sons, Joe Conti of Elkins and Raymond Taylor of Charlotte, NC, one sister, Mildred Rush of Mill Creek, five grandchildren, Joey Conti, Raymond Taylor, Robert Taylor, Dante Taylor, and Rain Taylor, four great grandchildren, special friends, Jane and Bob Lower, and several nieces and nephews, including special niece Donna Kennedy.
Preceding Bill in death besides his parents were three brothers, Denver, Thelmer and Ira Walter “Bud” Taylor and four sisters, Kathleen Arbogast, Hazel Harris, Renolta Taylor and Creeditheen Taylor.
Bill attended the schools of Randolph County and had worked as a coal miner with Roaring Creek Coal Company before becoming disabled.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Jerusalem United Methodist Church.
A visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Friday from 6PM until 8PM.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 12 noon. Rev. Foster Williams will officiate and interment will follow in Beverly Cemetery.
