Norma Louise Helmick Sisler 1927-2015 Obituary
Norma “Louise” Helmick Sisler, 88, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins.
Louise was born Tuesday, March 1, 1927 in Elkins, a daughter of the late Wilson Teaberry Helmick and Stella Louk Helmick.
Louise was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
On July 18, 1945 in Parsons, Louise married Edward D. Sisler who preceded her in death in 1996.
Left to cherish her memory are two children, Steve D. Sisler and wife Judy of Elkins and Mitchell K. Sisler and companion Brenda White of Beverly, three grandchildren, Steven E. Sisler, Joshua White and Holly White and three great grandchildren, Allen E. Sisler, Daniel Conwyer and Cassandra Harsh.
Preceding Louise in death besides her parents and husband was one son, Edward Sisler, two brothers, Lawrence and George Helmick and one sister, Ruby Isenhart.
Louise attended the one room school in Sugar Grove.
She was a homemaker and a babysitter.
She loved caring for children and the children loved her too. She also loved her cat.
She was a protestant and attended Hart Chapel Community Church.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 6, 2015 from 11AM until 1PM, the funeral hour.
Norma’s request for cremation will then be honored and inurnment will follow at a later date in Sugar Grove Cemetery in the Chenoweth Creek Community.
