Freda Leuvon Vanscoy Martin, 83, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Friday, May 15, 2015 at Hospice Regional Inpatient Center in Elkins. Freda was born Friday, December 25, 1931 in Kerens, a daughter of the late Cicero Vanscoy and Ann Kalar Vanscoy. Left to cherish Freda’s memory is one son, Kevin Martin of Elkins, one grandchild, Jennifer Martin of NC, one great grandchild, Eliza, five siblings, Evelyn Raines of Elkins, Audrey Irons of Elkins, Sharon Woods of Hendricks, Hartsel Vanscoy of OH and Cletis Vanscoy of Clarksburg and one daughter in law, Diane Martin of NC. Preceding Freda in death besides her parents was one son, Michael Martin and four siblings, Gertrude, Eileen, Chester and Lyle. Freda attended the schools of Randolph County and had been employed as a store manager for Hit or Miss Clothing in VA. Freda enjoyed crafting and loved to play the organ. Freda’s request for cremation will be honored.
