Violet Merle Howard Hogue 1928-2015 Obituary
Violet Merle Howard Hogue, 87, a former resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Friday, July 17, 2015 at Good Samaritan of Barbour County where she had been a resident since 2009.
Violet was born Tuesday, March 6, 1928 in Huttonsville, a daughter of the late Monroe Howard and Cora Lee Lambert Howard.
On April 28, 1947, in Elkins, she married Ralph Hogue who preceded her in death in 2005. Left to cherish Violet’s memory are three children, Betty Price and husband John of East Dailey, Patsy Coffman and husband Gary of Mill Creek and Roger Hogue of Norton, fifteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Preceding Violet in death besides her parents and husband were two children, Ralph Hogue Jr and Cathy Conrad, one grandson, Kenny Collins and five siblings, Vance and Vane Howard, Audrey and Geraldine Cogar and Ruth Parker.
Violet attended the schools of Randolph County and was a homemaker. She was always a very hard worker in order to improve her life and the lives of those close to her.
Violet enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was a Methodist by faith and attended the Mill Creek Memorial Union Mission Church.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 11A-1P, the funeral hour.
Pastor Jack Howell will officiate and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens.
