John Austin Carr 1948-2015 Obituary
John Austin Carr, 67, a resident of Hendricks, passed from this life Friday, September 4, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
John was born Thursday, August 26, 1948 in Elkins, a son of the late Don Harper Carr and Carol Sue Roberts Carr who survives in Hendricks.
On July 25, 1981 he married the former Patricia Smith who survives.
Also left to cherish John’s memory are two children, Johanna Curry and husband Graham of Barrackville and Roseanne Carr of Morgantown and one grandson, Kai Carr. John Austin Carr was a true Renaissance man, you won’t meet many like him.
He gave of himself for others, he was a spiritual man who devoted his professional life to education, guiding many lost souls to a brighter horizon.
He devoted everything else he had to his family: his wife, his daughters, son- in- law, his first grandson, his mother, brothers, sister and many more cousins, brothers and sisters- in- law.
He always took time for others, even when he was very ill. The world lost a magnanimous, magnetic man and he will be missed greatly.
Though his flesh is gone, he will live on in hearts and minds of the ones he loved.
In every sunrise, every campfire, every record from his beloved collection and at every Saturday morning breakfast he will live on with us.
A visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home in Parsons Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 5P-8P, with a service at 7:30P.
John’s request for cremation will then be honored.
