Charles Ray Coberly Sr., 67, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Thursday, August 27, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was born Friday, May 7, 1948 in Elkins, a son of the late Frank Coberly and Bonnie White Coberly Abbott who survives in Elkins. He had been married three times. Left to cherish his memory are three children, Charles ‘C.R.’ Coberly Jr. of Elkins, Tammy Coberly of Elkins and Brenda Coberly of VA, two step children, Tommy Scott of Elkins and Robert Lee Pritt Jr. of Matewan, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sisters, Nancy Hodges and Mary Hamrick , one half sister, Betty Moats and one half brother, Frank Abbott, all of Elkins. Charlie attended the schools of Randolph County and proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Charlie had been employed as a truck driver and a carpenter. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. Charlie’s request for cremation was honored. A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held at the American Legion in Elkins Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 3P-5P. At 5:00P, members of the H.W. Daniels Post #29, American Legion, Tygarts Valley Post #3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the WV Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
