Rosemary Rose Louise Wood Swecker 1960-2015 Obituary
Rosemary Rose Louise Wood Swecker, 55, a resident of Valley Head, passed from this life Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Rose was born Sunday, April 17, 1960 in Elkins, the daughter of Henry Wilson Wood and Betty Louise Hamrick Wood.
On September 5, 1981 at Mingo, she married the love of her life, Randall Swecker who survives.
Also left to cherish Roses memory is her son, Chanc Swecker and wife, Alison Allie of Valley Head and her brother Sonny James Wood and wife Lora of Valley Bend, nieces and nephews, Melissa, Shawn, Eric Swecker, Lucas, Ceria, and Nicholas Wood, and Richard McLaughlin. Rose was preceded in death by two brothers.
Rose was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 1978 and had worked at Bob Scotts Auto and Liggetts Supply. Rose loved flower arranging, crafting, the outdoors, and Christmas.
While on a recent trip up in a plane with her son Chanc, who is studying for his pilots license, she commented, Im as close to Heaven as I can get!
She was a member of the Mingo Presbyterian Church and the Marlinton Chapter #97, Order of the Eastern Star.
A visitation for Rose will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5pm 8pm.
On Wednesday evening, members of the Marlinton Chapter #97, Order of the Eastern Star will conduct ritualistic services at 7PM.
On Thursday, December 17, 2015, Rose will be moved to the Mingo Presbyterian Church where friends may call from 12 until 1pm, the funeral hour.
Rev. David Rice will officiate and interment will follow at the Mingo Cemetery in Mingo.
