ALEXINE MARIE MAKIL ROY, age 67 years, a resident of Main Street, Elkins, WV departed this life early Friday morning, November 27, 2009 at her home. She had been in declining health for the past four years.
She was born Tuesday, February 17, 1942 at Bapchule, AZ, a daughter of the late Augustine Makil and Delphine Patrick Makil. She was married to Richard Lee Roy at Arizona who preceded her in death April 17, 2006. Surviving her are three sons, Ruben and Richard Silvas, Superior, AZ, and Jason Homer and wife, Martha, Elkins, three daughters, Debra Irizarry and husband, Marshall, Phoenix, AZ, Denise Snyder, Elkins, and Patricia Simmons and husband Harry Eugene, Valley Bend, five brothers, Augustine “Auggie” Makil, Phoenix, Tom Makil, Casa Blanca, AZ, Philbert Makil, Bapchule, AZ, Benedict “Dingo” Makil, Mesa, AZ, and Mario “Boy” Makil, Sacaton, AZ, two sisters, Rita Valencia, Bapchule, AZ and Connie Rossell, California, and nineteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She had attended the schools of Bapchule, AZ, had worked as a dental assistant and had worked as a coal miner for over seventeen years. She was catholic by faith and was a member of the Gila River Indian Community at Sacaton, AZ.
Mrs. Roy’s request for cremation was honored.
