Adam D. “Don” Wegman, 66, of Mount Storm, a former resident of Randolph County, died Monday, March 4, 2002. Death was sudden and unexpected and attributed to a heart attack.
He was born on April 28, 1935, at Mill Creek, he was a son of Odie McCauley Wegman of Elkins, and the late Howard Wegman. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth David Wegman, and a stepson, Kenneth Allen Cosner.
He was twice married. His first wife, Dorothy Haden, survives in Indianapolis, Ind.
Mr. Wegman was a retired United Coal Miner, having retired from Badger Coal Mine in Philippi.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his second wife, Beulah E. Mitchell Cosner Wegman; four daughters, Sheila Wamsley and husband, Roger of Mill Creek, Yvonne Weasenforth and husband, Carl Jr. of Beverly, Donna Powers of Indianapolis, Ind., and Karen Tharp and husband, Curtis of Quincy, Ind.; one son, Dennis Wegman and wife, Becky of Belington; one stepson, Rick L. Cosner and wife, Sherry of Dorcas; one stepdaughter, Teresa Cosner Minnick of Mount Storm; one brother, Jimmy Wegman and wife, Shelley of Mt. Rose; five sisters, Maxine Goldizen of Huntington, Carolyn Fortney of Elkins, Jean Shifflett and husband, Don of Bayard, Nadine Moore and husband, Jack of Elkins, and Shirley Weasenforth of Valley Bend; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Walker officiating. Interment will be in the Locust Grove Cemetery, Bismarck.
