ADDIE “MAE” GOWER BOHON KELLER, age 100 years, a resident of St. George, WV, departed this life Monday evening, December 28, 2009 at the Cortland Acres Nursing Home.
She was born Monday, July 26, 1909 at St. George, WV, a daughter of the late Benjamin P. Gower and Marcella V. Jones Gower. She was twice married, first to Claude Lincoln Bohon, who preceded her in death during 1972, and then to Roy Keller, who also precedes her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Eugene Bohon and wife Ruth of St. George, Erwin Bohon of Stow, OH, and Lyle W. Bohon and wife Ellen of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; one stepson, Denzil Keller and wife Edna of St. George; one daughter in law, Virginia Bohon of Akron, OH; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and many step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by one son, Edward C. Bohon; one step son, Denton Keller; four brothers, Ray, Day, Clay and Jay Gower; and two sisters, Gay Bohon and Fay Gower; one half brother, John W. Gower; one half sister, Rosie Gower Loughry.
She attended the school of Saint George. She was employed as a switch board operator for the former Tucker County Hospital. She was a member of the St. George Church of God. She loved gardening and making quilts.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 1 PM. Pastor Carolyn Shreve and The Rev. Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.
