Almogene Lou Grimm, age 81 of Leavittsburg, passed into eternal life on Sunday, February 6, 2011 of natural causes. On January 14, 1930, in Philippi, WV, Howard & Lela (Hershman) Upton were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Almogene. She married the love of her life, Charles William Grimm on April 17, 1948 and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage together. Almogene had lived in Leavittsburg since 1955, working as a home health aid for the Visiting Nurses Association for 18 years retiring in 1998. Almogene graduated from Philippi High School in 1948 and then attended College at Fairmont State Nursing School. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, but most of all she enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren. Memories of Almogene will be carried on by her loving family; her husband, Charles of Leavittsburg; her daughters, Kathy Grimm of Colorado Springs, CO, Debi Grimm of Leavittsburg, Penny and her husband Steve Karr of Champion; her sons and their wives Steve & Jeanette Grimm of Howland, Randy & Deborah Grimm of Leavittsburg, Jeff Grimm & Cathy of Kent, Tim Grimm of Vienna, Robert & Angel Grimm of Leavittsburg; 24 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at James Funeral Home. The family will have additional calling hours at Stemple & Forman Funeral Home in Philippi, WV on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Almogene will be buried in Cross Roads Church Cemetery near Philippi.
