Alonzo Jerome “Lonnie” Credal, 75, a resident of Davis, passed from this life early Thursday morning, Aug. 28, 2014, in Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Md. Alonzo was born Saturday, Feb. 11, 1939, in Tucker County, a son of the late Alonzo Credal and Amanda Flynn Credal. On May 3, 1958, he was married to the former Lydia Louise Bohon, who preceded him in death in 1973. Left to cherish Lonnie’s memory are three children, Robert Alonzo Credal and wife, Brenda, of Parsons, Lydia Susan Taylor and husband, Alvie, and Lora Faye Bolyard and husband, Carlos, all of Oakland, MD.; 10 grandchildren, Travis Credal, Brittany Credal, Crystal Collar, Julie Ferguson, Maggie McDaniel, Allen Amie, Lydia Schoonover, Dovie Dumire, Jay Dumire, and Adam Dumire; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Lonnie was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by his three sisters, Irene Givens, Virginia Carr and Evelyn Harper. Lonnie attended the schools of Tucker County, and had worked for the Parsons Tannery, Canaan Valley State Park and Laurel Run Coal Mine. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed camping and being outdoors. He had been a member of Parsons Nazarene Church. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate, and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery
