Alta E. Vandevender 1909-2003 Obituary
Alta E. Vandevender, 93, of Marlinton, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness.
She was a homemaker and a member of Big Springs Presbyterian Church.
She was born April 18, 1909, in Randolph County, the daughter of the late Melvin P. and Nettie Conrad Vandevender.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, Donald and Boyd Vandevender, and three sisters, Winnie Ayers, Louie Ware and Nina Beale, preceded her in death.
A sister, Nettie Dehn of Gaithersburg, Md., and several nieces and nephews survive her.
Funeral services will be today at VanReenen Funeral Home, Marlinton at 1 p.m. with Earl D. “Butch” Michael officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton. From 19 Apr 2003.
