Anthony Gale “Andy” Thompson, age 46 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 in the Davis Memorial Hospital. He was born July 21, 1966 in Elkins a son of Herbert Merle and Sandi Thompson of Plano, Texas and Emma Margaret White Cannon who survives in Maryland. He was twice married, first to Cynthia Faye Nine Thompson who preceded him in death on October 18, 2010. On September 22, 2012, he was married to Diettra Dawn “Dee Dee” Smith Thompson who survives in Elkins. Also surviving is one son, Trevor Clay Thompson, Elkins, a daughter, Brittney Jade Thompson of Elkins, a step daughter, Hannah Sinclaire Smith of Elkins, a sister, Melanie Dawn Thompson Uriegas and husband Steve of Plano, TX. and his paternal grandmother, Betty Thompson of Glady. Also preceding him in death is his paternal grandfather, Herbert B. Thompson and his paternal grandparents, Emerson and Nettie White. Andy attended the schools of Randolph County and was a self-employed contractor and owner of Nature Craft Furniture. Andy’s passion was handcrafting log furniture. He attended the Landmark Baptist Church in Elkins.
Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 29th from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Anthony Gale “Andy” Thompson.
