Barbara Ellen Currence Chidester, 56, a resident of Mill Creek passed from this life early Thursday morning, August 11, 2011 at the Hospice Inpatient Center in Elkins. She was born Tuesday, December 7, 1954 at Jerusalem near Mill Creek, a daughter of Jonathan Numer Currence and Gracie Belle Snyder Currence. On June 11, 1977 at Mill Creek, she was married to Joseph L. Chidester who survives. Others left to cherish Barbara’s memory are one daughter, Samantha J. Moyer and husband, Chris of Elkins, one grandson, Liam Joseph Moyer of Elkins, three brothers, Edward Mitchell Currence and companion, Peggy of Virginia, Benjamin Larry Currence and wife, Marilyn of Jerusalem, and Billy Joe Currence and companion, Roslyn of Mill Creek, two sisters, Rosemary Stormie Taylor and husband, Richard of Elkins and Johnene Lillie Pritt and husband, Ronald of Junior and several nieces and nephews. She attended the schools of Randolph County, was a homemaker, and had worked as a cook for the Catholic Conference Center, the Elkins Recreational Center, and the Mill Creek Senior Center. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and gardening. Graveside services will be held at the Chidester Cemetery at Mill Creek on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 4:30 PM. The Reverend Stella Faye Moyer will officiate and interment will follow.
