BARBARA ELLEN KYLE LANGEVIN, age 77 years, a resident of Elkins, WV, departed this life early Monday morning April 25, 2011 at the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
She was born Friday, May 12, 1933 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Raymond Kyle and Owena Skidmore.
Surviving are two sons; The Reverend Harold Arthur Langevin Jr. and wife Donna; Alan Richard Langevin and wife Cathy, all of Elkins; one brother, George “Tyke” Kyle, Elkins, WV; four grandchildren, Kyle Langevin, Jonathon Langevin and wife Alicia, Erin Golden and husband C. J. and Chelsea Langevin; one great grandchild, Mathew Langevin. She is preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Isabella “Izzy” Golden.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1951. She was an employee of the former Neal’s Drug Store and the former W. T. Grant Company. She worked for the Slater Food Service at D&E College and she was a Special Education Teacher for the Randolph County Board of Education at Elkins Middle School and Coalton. She was an active volunteer for the local American Cancer Society and a life long member of the First Church of Christ of Elkins.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Thursday from 5 until 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Friday April 29 , 2011 at 11:30 AM. The Rev. Gary Kendall will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens Cemetery on the airport road at Elkins, WV.
