Barbara J. Howell departed this world and entered Heaven on February 19, 2021. She was born May 14, 1939 in Muncie, Indiana. She was married to Calvin J. Howell on October 8, 1955 in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she resided until March 13, 2013. She then moved to Elkins, WV to live with her eldest son. She retired from White Swan Hardware after 20 years.
She was preceded by her beloved husband, Calvin J. Howell, Sr.; son, Fred E. Howell; parents, Marion and Catherine (Giles) Hovis; brothers, Marion, Alva, John, and Thomas Hovis; sisters, Ellen Welling, Irene Love, And Betty Whited.
Surviving are her sons, Calvin (Mabel) Howell, Jr of West Virginia and Michael (Annette) Howell of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Catherine (Camille) Srouji of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 18 Grandchildren Allison (Cass) Close, Melissa Howell, Greg (Lisa) Howell, Chris (Rachel) Howell, Nick (Ann Marie) Howell, Amanda (Matt) Hienz, Todd Christensen, Eddie Srouji, Zachary (Gloria) Howell, Tia (Austin) Howell, Jarod Howell; 25 Greatgrandchildren and 1 Great Greatgrandchild.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Friday, February 26, 2021, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, February 25, at the funeral home, face masks and social distancing are required for attendance. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association.
