Barbara L. Bobbi Lynn Harlan Sams 1961-2020 Obituary
Barbara L. “Bobbi Lynn” Harlan Sams, a former resident of Parkersburg, WV and upon returning to the area, has resided with her sister Carolyn Elmore of Jimtown, passed from this life peacefully at Valentines Personal Care Home in Elkins, on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the age of 58.
She was born September 1, 1961, the daughter of the late George D. and Lucy E. Harlan.
Also preceding her in death were brothers Richard and Kenneth Harlan, infant sister, nephews Anthony and Richie Harlan and brothers-in-law, Carl Elmore and Doug Biller.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Bill Harlan and wife Dorothy of Adolph, Dale Harlan and wife Anna of Jimtown, Bert Harlan and wife Mary of Junior, Jim Harlan and wife Sandie of Jimtown, Carolyn Elmore of Jimtown, Mary Ann Hodgkiss and husband Ed of Sunset Beach, NC, Midge Thompson and husband Roger of Elkins, Brenda Currence and husband Dennis of Queens, Linda Biller of Kerens, Patti Hodgkiss and husband Larry of Woodbine, MD, Terri Harlan of Elkins and Doretta Harlan of Jimtown. Many nephews, nieces, and cousins, whom she adored, also survive.
Bobbi attended Coalton High School and graduated with the Class of 1980 and had worked as a medical biller for many years.
She also worked for Mon Power in Parkersburg, WV. Bobbi was loved by many and will forever remain in the lives of her family and all who knew her.
Due to Covid-19 a graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown, WV.
Pastor Julie Davis will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 300-598 Laurel Creek Road, Parkersburg, WV 26104 where Bobbi loved attending church.
Social distancing as well as masks will be required for those in attendance at the graveside service.
