Belvia Marie Cline Simmons, 72, a resident of the Crystal Springs community, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at her residence.
She was born April 4, 1930, in Elkins, a daughter of the late George Wallace and Lillian Hammonds Cline.
She is survived by three sons, Lertie Wallace Simmons of Petersburg, Dewey Hunter Simmons Jr. of Elkins, and Larry Lee Simmons of Chesapeake, Va.; four daughters, Shirley Mae Arbogast and Gladys Lavern Stalnaker, both of Elkins, Rose Mary Lambert of Bowden, and Patricia Ann Simmons of Buckhannon; one sister, Bessie Mildred Judy of Elkins; one sister-in-law, Sadie Lambert of Bemis; 10 grandchildren, Lertie Simmons Jr., James Arbogast, Valerie Eye, Pam Stewart, Dale Lambert, Matthew and Christopher Stalnaker, Cody and Anna Marie Simmons and Cynthia Shreve; and eight great-grandchildren, Ashley Lambert, Ciera Stewart, Shasta, Jaymes and Meadow Arbogast, Tristen and Tegan Lambert and Calista Eye.
Preceding her in death were twin daughters, Mary Anna and Zane Lou Simmons; two brothers, Roy and Edmond Cline; two sisters, Georgia Carr and May Cline; and two granddaughters, Virginia Arbogast and Angela Lambert.
Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Elkins.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
