Bertie Heavener 1926-2003 Obituary
Mrs. Bertie (Long) Heavener, 76, of Cabins, died Feb. 8, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.
Born Oct. 12, 1926, in Onego, she was the daughter of the late Sheridan and Mary Jane (Vance) Long.
Mrs. Heavener is survived by her husband, Luther I. Heavener, whom she married Jan. 21, 1967; eight sons, , of Petersburg;of Mill Creek, of Landes and of Cabins; nine daughters, of Franklin,of Petersburg, of Upper Tract and of Cherry Grove; one sister, of Onego; four brothers, of Onego, of Jersey Shore, Pa. and of Seneca Rocks; 33 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Feb. 12, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with interment in the Long Family Cemetery, Onego.
