Bessie Arthur 1926-2003 Obituary
Bessie Arthur, 76, of Route 2, Belington, departed this life at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, in United Hospital Center in Clarksburg. She had been in failing health for many years and death was attributed to cancer.
She was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Webster, a daughter of the late William and Lena Fawcett McAfee.
She was married to Gene W. Arthur, who preceded her in death in 1980.
Also preceding her in death were two sons, Stephen Bruce and David Allen; one daughter, Bonita Sharon “Suise” Nash.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Christina Marie Nash of Morgantown, and James Nash of Maryland; one sister, Helen Baisi of Weaver; and several nieces and nephews.
She worked in the upholstery business with her husband for many years in the Grafton area. She was a Protestant by faith.
She attended the schools of Taylor County.
At the request of the deceased, her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date with the Rev. F.L. McQuain conducting the service at Belington Nazarene Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any contribution be made to the Belington Nazarene Church.
