Bessie Edith Koon, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her home. She was born May 18, 1931 in Marshville, WV, a daughter of the late Albert and Minnie May Smith Dennison. On October 14, 1950 she married Claudie Ray Koon who preceded her in death on February 10, 2012. She is survived by two daughters, Marcine Matthews and husband James of Foster, WV and Ilene Krautz of Aberden, MD; two grandsons, Bernard Rice of Madison, WV and David Phillips of French Creek, WV; two granddaughters, Shellee Moore of Madison and Katrece Tinney of Buckhannon and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Koon was a homemaker and a member of the Floral Rebekah Lodge # 183. Friends will be received Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 12 Noon until 1 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Zickefoose officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
